The End is Near (and we deserve it) . . . Bride Ties Baby to Wedding Dress

Meme Bride ties baby to wedding dress

Woman Ties Baby to Wedding Dress,

Drags Her Down Aisle

As a mother who sat her kids in a roasting pan and pulled them around the living room, I can’t honestly think this was anything but a good time for a baby. She appears to be secure and not getting any rug burns. But one question does come to mind . . . Was she the something “new” or the something “borrowed”?

Big thanks to historical mystery author K.B. Owen for pointing me to this gem.

Thanks for the shout out Piper! And I love the horse clip. I never knew horses liked to play in the water! “Oh yeah, that’s right, take a load off…” LOL!

One of the challenges when I would ride my horse out as a girl was keeping him from lying down out from under me when we crossed water. On the other hand, I had another that would walk a mile to avoid a mud puddle. Like people, they’re all different. 🙂

  2. Jami Gold says:

Thanks for the shout out to my blog, Piper! The post that actually got the reader complaint I mentioned was actually the one after that (, which was more innocuous if you ask me, but some people have different ideas. *ahem* Very different ideas. 😉

    • Piper Bayard says:

And some people have entirely too much time on their hands. Being offended takes time and energy. They need to volunteer at the closest charity and put that time and energy to better use.

Thanks for starting the conversation. 🙂

And I LOVE that horse video! 🙂

  4. Tennessee, this week’s leader of the apocalypse! Woot! (Don’t look at me, I just work here.) In the article I read, the bride claimed the dress was Vera Wang. The company disavowed.

  5. When I saw that bride dragging the baby thing, I just laughed so hard there was no way to write anything. You made the perfect poll.
(Growing up we always had trouble keeping the horses out of the tanks when we were riding in the summer. Wet saddles got us scolded – but they were bigger and stronger than us!

    • Piper Bayard says:

LOL. I had one horse in particular that would get in the tank. I raised him from a colt. We got the bright idea of putting fish in the tank to keep off the algae, and he jumped in to chase them. Knocked a hole in the tank. Very unhappy fish. 🙂

It’s true. We really can’t be exposed to sunlight. Flames! Flames on the side of my face!

    • Piper Bayard says:

LOL. I get it. I’ve been out of the sun so long that my freckles have faded, but I still burst into flames and get sick for days. I don’t even mind my “middle aged mom hat” with the super wide brim anymore.

  7. The horse looks like a (big) dog we had- the dog wasn`t a talented swimmer- walked along the bottom doing his front feet like the horse, splashing most of the water out of the pool.

I’ve often thought my kids would be safer if I could just tie them to something for awhile. Wedding dresses, closet doors, celling fans…
