The End is Near (and we deserve it). . . . Chinese Women “Occupy” Toilets

China’s ‘occupy toilet’ protests spread

Fed up with the long lines at the ladies’ rooms next to the absence of lines at the men’s rooms, Chinese women are having their own “Occupy” movement by occupying men’s rooms as a way of protesting. They are demanding equal time, or lack thereof.

What do you think? Should American women try this one? Especially at sporting events?

Having grown up in a very fundamentalist Christian part of the world, Jenny Hansen’s post had me ROFL, especially the video. Perfect for the season of Lent. Help Prevent Sinning with “The Sin Collar”

I went to see This Means War with my daughter, and we loved it. Great fun. Jillian Dodd has a terrific review with, of course, some great pictures. Movie Review: This Means War

Foods for a Beautiful Brain by August McLaughlin. You’ll be surprised at some of the foods on this list that can help your brain be its best. The only flaw I can see in it is the absence of bacon. That has to be a mistake.

A little known Piper Fact. I love rabbits. So when I saw this video of a Swedish rabbit that takes charge of the barnyard and herds the sheep, I had to share it with you. It had me laughing through the whole thing. I especially like how the sheep dog and the farmer hang out and and watch through a lot of it. Meet Champis, the sheep herding rabbit.

All the best to all of you for a week of keeping your sheep in line.

Thanks for the amazing links, as always, Piper!

  2. Jillian Dodd - Glitter, Bliss and Perfect Chaos says:

Thanks for including my movie review in your mashup! Love the new blog look too! I would assume Holmes likes it as well. Very posh.

  3. Phenominal. Occupy Outhouse. Portland will be so proud.

  4. Noel says:

Maybe there should be a unisex public bathroom everywhere we go, instead of one for each gender. But then again this might bring more issues.

  5. Women wouldn’t need to occupy toilets if they didn’t take so darn long! What are they doing in there? Make up? Pilates? Get in, do your business, and get out!

I need to watch that rabbit video again for the laughs. I missed Jenny’s sin post so I’ll head over there after Champis. Great links as always!

Lol. Okay. So let’s look at the practical mechanics of this. Even if women were strictly business, strictly business in heels, pantyhose, slacks, jeans, or dresses is still going to take more time than, well, a zipper for a guy. Then there are other time-consuming issues, such as whether or not there is toilet paper, and how long it takes to make the little seat cover, because I’m sure we’ve all gotten that email that goes around about how many germs and tiny animals grow in such places. There’s also the extra fuss time if the door doesn’t properly close or latch. So even under the best of circumstances, I will estimate that women need at least twice, if not three times the amount of time that men do, and, therefore, should have at least twice as large a restroom as the men. πŸ™‚

Isn’t Champis a hoot? Thanks so much for stopping by and giving me a smile, Tameri.

Site looks great Piper πŸ™‚ I’m gearing up for a little March Movie Madness Redux. You up to defend your title? Different theme this year and a much bigger field!

    Watched the rabbit herd sheep. It begs the question; Which is the least fierce? The sheep must’ve seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail. All of them thinking;
    Run away, run away!!

    • Piper Bayard says:

Lol. I do think there was a big screen TV on the side of that barn, right? It was not a proud day for sheep, for sure. Good to see you, Tom. πŸ™‚

    • Vila Deuel says:

Rabbits are mean little beasties. I know, I’ve had a few of them as pets. If that rabbit doesn’t like you, then look out, because Fuzzy Bunny will be chewing on your ankles! It looks to me like Champis has claimed the barn as his den, and he doesn’t want the sheep in there. Sheep have a difficult time seeing objects low on the ground near their feet, so Champis gets in there and bites the sheep’s feet. BTW, it’s the song along with that vid that makes it so hilarious.

      • Piper Bayard says:

Lol. I thought the song made it, too. I wondered if the rabbit is pulling a Charlotte’s Web trick, herding sheep to avoid going into a pie. Great point about sheep not being able to see things close to the ground. I hadn’t thought about that. Thanks for stopping by, Vila. Good to see you. πŸ™‚

That rabbit clip is awesome. Thanks for the links Piper. I love your bathroom story, you always find the funniest stories πŸ™‚

Fun as always! Love reading your blog, Piper!

  10. Susan Spann says:

You KNOW that bunny had a bet with that dog. “Dude…your job is NOT so hard. I bet I can herd sheep better than you can eat grass.”

    The bunny is winning.

  11. Great video, Piper – I’m sure there’s a place for that rabbit on an upcoming Wallace and Gromit movie.

    Cheers!

  12. LOL Bacon, hmm. Well, the brain does require protein, B-vitamins and iron. But the saturated fats, er, um… Have you considered baked tofurkey bacon? Salmon bacon? Or wait, the BEST stuffβ€”broccoli sausage. (One can never have enough ‘o that.)

Thanks so much for including me here, Piper! I think the Chinese women would benefit from Natalie’s how-to-pee-standing-up for gals post…

    • Piper Bayard says:

OMG, August. Next, you’re going to say something like “Spam Lite.” Why live?

Great idea about Natalie’s post. I should repost it here with lots of negative comments about China to pull in the Fifty Centers. Then they can spread the word. Thanks so much for stopping by, although you did use offensive language. Salmon bacon? That makes my brain bleed. πŸ™‚

  14. Herding bunny! I dabbled in training my Belgian sheepdog to herd, and it’s not easy, but little bunny takes charge! Fun!

Thanks for the rabbit video! I’ve been begging the hubby to get a rabbit for the past couple months, he keeps saying no (of course)…but maybe I could convince him if the rabbit could do something cool. Like drive him to work.

  16. Great post Piper! Enjoy your weekend (what’s left of it) :D.

  17. OMG Piper! That is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen! What a ballsy little rabbit. He could’ve gotten stomped on at any moment. My guess is he mimicked what he saw the dog doing. Thanks for sharing this and reminding me to add Bunny to my wish list once I get my farm πŸ˜‰ hehe!

The Occupy article was just ridiculous. Seriously! It’s kinda funny. Thanks for all the other great links too.

    • Piper Bayard says:

I love that rabbit, for sure. I’ve watched that video three or four times in the past week, and I sit and laugh through the whole thing, which could be more of a statement about me than I should make online. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for stopping by, Ingrid. πŸ™‚

  18. Love the video with the rabbit and sheep. Super cute. πŸ™‚

  19. Love these end-is-near posts. I often find myself thinking about you midweek, when I come across something.

And thanks for the shout. Tell Holmes I also included a 10th reason for the piece which was rejected. It involved introducing vegetables.

    Yup, crossed the line…
