Vancouver Island 2012

These are a few of my favorite photos from our May/June 2012 trip to Vancouver Island. Not a lot of sunshine, but it was no problem for this desert refugee.

The view of Victoria Harbor from our hotel balcony. We stayed there one night.

Topiary in front of The Empress Hotel in Victoria.

From the deck of the house we rented outside of Sooke.

Botany Bay near Port Renfrew at low tide.

More Botany Bay.

Forest floor asters.

A walk into the forest near Botany Bay.

My son and I on French Beach.

Ready to hunt Shamu.

Never could quite coordinate the whales and my camera.

Sea lions at Race Rocks in the Strait of Juan de Fuca.

Our catch of the day, two halibut and a salmon. Tasty!

These are great photos, Piper. Like you, overcast skies do not bother me, especially on Vancouver Island, which I have not explored but have family in the Pacific Northwest so have an idea of the area,. Glad you and Holmes are back.
